Registration for Mecca’s Side Car Project includes:


  • 5 days of dance/movement technique and performance-based training with some of the world’s most celebrated and sought-after teachers and innovators in the fields of tribal fusion bellydance, theater, design, and music (see schedule for details).

  • New Specialized workshops created just for this event focusing on performance development and transitioning from studio to stage, including: The Art of Critque; Movement Invention & Creating choreography; Musicality w/ live musicians; Creating your own aesthetic and costuming, Make-up, Theatricality and Performance, Advanced Concepts, and of course high level dance technique, and core integrated Yoga specifically for belly dance.

  • 5 full days of the intermediate/advanced track for deeper study and professionalized focus. (Limited to 28 participants.)

  • Due to overwhelming interest and desire for More of Mecca’s specialized focus and continuing ‘next level’ development in their art, we created this year’s Side Car Project to focus on exactly that! That means: 5-7 hours a day, for 5 full days!

  • Extra hours of open studio time, to encourage integration of the day’s material into your Sunday’s performance piece. Added costuming lab and Stitch ‘n Bitch for group fun and feedback of costume creations.

  • Performance opportunity at the Sunday night decompression, featuring a happy hour hafla starring *YOU, and more SF fun TBA.

  • An afternoon of EXCLUSIVE vending by some of the hottest Bay area designers—gathered just for your viewing and purchasing pleasure!

  • Personalized welcome bag, dialed out with “the tribal bellydancer’s guide to SF”, coupons to some of our favorite tribal stores, snacks, goodies, teacher’s favorite things to do around town, etc.
